Fundamentals of mixing music.
Part I. Theory
Chapter 1
The first chapter discusses the technical and creative foundations of mixing music, introduces the basic concepts found in the textbook. It is here that the basic postulates are formed for further consideration of the tools necessary to obtain a three-dimensional-sounding mix.
Chapter 2
This chapter focuses on the fundamentals of equalization. It covers both utilitarian and creative approaches to customizing this type of sound processing. Equalizer classification criteria are also given and classical devices are considered.
Chapter 3
The third chapter deals with methods and tools for dynamic processing of musical signals. A technical description of the processes occurring in devices of the corresponding types is given. Just as in chapter 2, the gear is classified, classical devices are considered.
Chapter 4
The fourth chapter is devoted to spatial processing. The basis of this chapter is a clear division of the spheres of implementation of this type of sound processing with their subsequent classification. Classical devices and areas of their use are considered.
Chapter 5
The fifth chapter offers a concrete and effective technique for creating three-dimensional-sounding mix using the tools discussed in previous chapters.
Chapter 6
Technically, artistic processing devices are rather indirectly related to the creation of a three-dimensional sonic picture, and in this regard they are considered in a separate chapter devoted to the creative aspects of sound processing.
